What is a Smart Contract?

Despite the name, a smart contract isn't a paper contract—it's a digital agreement written in code that automatically executes when predefined conditions are met.

Think of it like this:

👉 "If this happens... then do that."

For example:

✅ Ownership transfers automatically.

No paperwork.
No middleman.
No unnecessary delays.

Smart contracts are already helping power:

What is Gas?

Think of it like fuel for a car.

Without fuel, a car can't move.

Without gas, a blockchain can't process transactions.

Every time you:

..the network performs work behind the scenes.

Gas helps pay for that work.

Different blockchains use different native tokens to pay these fees:

Gas also helps protect the network from spam and keeps it running smoothly.
