What size air conditioning unit would I need for my home❓️

These are valid questions we get asked and here's the answers:

These air conditioning units don’t need a separate power supply and can be plugged into a wall socket:

• Room size up to 18m² = 9 000 BTU✔️

• Room size up to 25m² = 12 000 BTU✔️

• Room size up to 36m² = 18 000 BTU✔️

These Aircon Units Need A Separate Power Supply & Isolator Installed To Which Outdoor Unit Must Be Connected Directly:

• Room size up to 50m² = 24 000 BTU✔️

• Room size up to 60m² = 30 000 BTU✔️

• Room size up to 72m² = 36 000 BTU✔️

• Room size up to 96 m² = 48 000 BTU✔️

Things to consider when purchasing an Air conditioner:

Energy Efficiency:
Look for a high Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating, which indicates how efficiently the unit cools over the entire cooling season. A higher SEER means lower energy consumption and electricity bills✔️

Inverter Technology:
Consider inverter technology, which adjusts the compressor speed to maintain temperature, leading to better energy efficiency and quieter operation.✔️

2. Cooling Capacity:
BTU (British Thermal Units):
Determine the required BTU capacity based on the room size, insulation, and climate. A larger BTU capacity is needed for larger rooms or areas with higher heat gain.✔️

Room Size:
A general rule of thumb is 500 BTU per square meter for South African climates also considering factors like insulation, sun exposure, and ceiling height. ✔️
