After 3 years of development, we are thrilled to see launch their Moto Jacket and Pencil Skirt using our thinnest MIRUM® yet! Founder of Another Tomorrow says is best: “I can’t recall a more critical time to underline a viable (and beautiful) alternative vision for the industry that embeds sustainability and empathy for all sentient beings (ie including, but not only people).” NFW is steadfast in its commitment to a plastic-free future in fashion, footwear and beyond. 👩🏻‍🔬

Collaboration is everything. It’s the forward-thinking brands, willing to embrace new materials and break away from the status quo, that make NFW’s mission possible. 🌱 We’re still overjoyed to be shortlisted for the Earthshot Prize! 🎉

Boo! Plastics are spooky!

1. We eat and drink about a credit card’s worth of plastic weekly.

2. Plastics are made from fossil fuels and are a major contributor to climate change.

3. More than 65 percent of the global textile market is now synthetic (i.e., plastic).

4. Plastics shed microplastic pollution during normal use. In other words, waste management won’t save us.

5. Plastic production is expected to triple by 2060.

6. Scientists just found microplastic accumulation in the human brain at about 10x the density as other areas of the human body.

7. It’s estimated that less than 10% of plastic has ever been recycled.

Opt for no new plastic this Halloween. Thrift and/or look for natural materials!

This is a portrait of an unsustainable, linear economy.

Where do plastics come from? Fossil fuels.

How do fossil fuels become plastic? With a lot of energy and toxic chemicals.

What are plastics used for? Way more than just bottles—clothing, shoes, bags, furniture, and almost everything around us is made from fossil-fuel-based synthetics.

And what do plastics turn into? Plastic waste and toxic microplastic pollution.

In nature, there is no waste. There are no linear supply chains. It’s time to take a cue from nature and create materials that fit within the Earth’s circular systems. 🌍 That’s why we work with Plants, not Plastic.™

🌿 Leaves are the original solar panels! 🌞 They use energy from sunlight to make plant matter and draw down carbon from the atmosphere. By making our materials with plants instead of fossil fuel-based plastics, we’re using biogenic carbon (the carbon stored in plants) instead of fossil carbon from oil and gas. Keeping materials in line with Earth’s natural carbon cycle—not relying on fossil fuel extraction—is key to building a truly circular bioeconomy. 🌍♻️

Just like we need an energy transition away from oil and gas, we also need a material transition toward renewable resources.

What does it take to drive real material change? A whole lot of collaboration. 🤝🌿

just dropped the Gaia Tote made with MIRUM®, backed by Climate Beneficial™ cotton. But this story started way back in 2022! That’s when we joined the California Climate and Cotton Coalition (C4) to support regenerative cotton practices at Bowles Farm. 🌾 After the cotton was harvested, our partners at Laguna Mill spun it into fabric, and the NFW team in Peoria, IL, made MIRUM® backed with that fabric. Our friends at turned it into these beautiful bags for Pangaia’s collection. And now, Pangaia is bringing it to you! ✨

This is how the supply chain should look: transparent, collaborative, and raising the bar for the entire industry. 💪🌍
