A joy to walk on

For our client we took an old Woodstock house and converted it into a lovely open plan office. You’ve seen it before - sticky, grimy and dull or damaged and uneven hardwood floors. Maybe you have the same problem at home after pulling up a carpet?

Ryan Construction & Maintenance we’re here to help.

Besides fixing the floors at this renovation, a new kitchen was installed for the office staff, walls were broken out to create the open plan environment, new lighting and air-conditioning was installed and beautiful modern colours were painted on the walls

What finished off the look was that the existing timber floors were repainted, sanded and sealed to look as good as new.

A joy to walk on and a space to be thoroughly productive and feeling motivated to work in!

An Indoor braai and entertainment area

Overlooking the Atlantic ocean views of this Camps Bay Bungalow is a cosy indoor braai area built just off the kitchen. Large glass windows give an inside and outside feel depending on the mood and the weather.

Can you imagine sipping on wine and reclining on comfy couches in front of the warmth of the fire with friends and family? Reimagine your entertainment area. An indoor braai is perfect for a rainy day in Cape Town or when you have to cancel an outdoor picnic on account of bad weather.

In this home we placed the built-in braai against a backdrop of a stone feature wall for a wonderful, attractive addition to the home. The braai design leaves space below for storage of wood, charcoal or the tools and instruments required for a good old-fashioned quality braai.

Feature walls provide great opportunities to experiment with textures, shapes, colours, and patterns. For our client in Camps Bay, Ryan Construction & Maintenance incorporated a brick feature wall in an open plan space which created the flow from the kitchen into the lounge and dining areas.

At a project in Claremont, we at Ryan Construction and Maintenance extended the front of the house to increase the lounge dining area on the ground floor.

This included a new reception area and an outside entertainment area with braai and planter boxes wrapping around the side. Shaded and isolated from the elements it was beautifully furnished to use all year round. The bedrooms on the first floor were increased in size and a beautiful curved balcony was also added.

The columns and curved beam has added a new style to the house thereby setting the tone for the rest of the house. With added lighting and a beautiful tiled patio the renovation has added considerable value to the property.
