Another happy customer taken off-grid in the Southern Cape.

This system is a little overkill for replacing the R19k per month Eskom bill but the client asked us to oversize with the intention of hardly ever needing to start a generator. Overkill or not, the payback period is still 4 years and as we could see on the first day of overcast weather it pays to oversize the panels a little.

PS: 5 of the battery modules missing in the fotos due to last minute upgrade decision.

It’s been four years since we last posted some of our work. Our existing clients have been keeping us very busy, but after completing many successful commercial-scale hybrid systems over the past few years, we’re going to start sharing more on Facebook to spread the word.

Our products and integration methods are proven, and the time for large hybrid systems has arrived, with payback periods now under five years in many cases.

Exciting times to be an established and trusted provider in this space!

We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our hundreds of clients who have supported us—some for over a decade. We still enjoy what we do as much as ever, and you’ve made it possible.

The pictures in this post show a project where we are adding hybrid capability and more solar capacity to an existing client’s site. The system is currently just under 800 kW PV, with a 700 kWh battery and a 250 kW hybrid inverter. The design and DB board allow for future expansion up to 3 MWh of battery storage and 750 kW of hybrid inverter capacity.

We have been terrible and posting images of our work lately but it is because we have been so busy. We thought we should do a post on a SunSynk system as this has become one of the more popular options in the last 6 months (For residential installations we use Victron or SunSynk inverters). This installation is good example of an "off grid in good weather" installation we did recently in Durbanville. We have done approximately 25 SunSynk installations in the last 4 months and started doing them in 2021 with no come-backs at all. We are very comfortable with the technology now and looking forward to many more!

For this project we used the aesthetically pleasing black frame panels from JA Solar.

Phase 1 for this beautiful Citrus farm just went live. Looking forward for the building additions to be completed so we can double up the panels and inverters for the new 600kVA consolidated transformer which is being installed in a few weeks.

Drone photos of completed roofs to follow. There was a bit of a mix-up with the photos on file it seems...

What is great about this project is that we were able to consult on all aspects of the project:

- Consolidation of three transformers
- Design of 3300V distribution network
- Generator sizing and choice
- and of course integration of grid / generator and PV power

Max Yield Energy is proud to offer top class residential and commercial solar power systems in the Cape Town and surrounding areas.

This three-phase residential system with 11.4kW of solar panels at a perfect angle for the winter months have seen our client go to basically zero grid consumption since we have commissioned. We were asked to add another battery though to ensure they can go through the night even in winter, so the battery capacity was upgraded to 30kWh soon after installation.

Boasting a portfolio of over 270 satisfied clients we probably have done an installation in your area for a peace of mind reference!

Thought we should post something before people start thinking we are not active anymore! In truth we are blessed with such a strong network of existing clients now that about 70% of our new work is from client referrals so we have been very slack on the marketing front.

Thank you to our fantastic clients for doing our marketing for us and ensuring that we are super busy in these times where one should be thankful to have work at all. Below two pics of what we have been busy with this past week.

Next week we are off to the Koue Bokkeveld to commission a 332kWh roof mount system for a farmer now that the final parts have arrived. Will definitely post some good pictures of that one!
