Meet the IEPA International Energy Training Centre — PQRS's training partner, representing the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) across Sub-Saharan Africa and offering solar and energy training alongside PQRS courses.

IEPA is led by Executive Managing Director Yolanda de Lange — one of the women driving skills development and accreditation across the energy sector on this continent.

Only about 1 in 5 people working in South Africa's wind and solar sector are women — and in technical and engineering roles specifically, that drops to roughly 1 in 8. (Source: SAWEA & SAPVIA Gender Diversity Guideline)

That's not a small gap. But it's also not a fixed one.

Solar is one of the fastest-growing technical sectors in the country, and the credentials that matter — AREP accreditation, ECSA CPD points, and SAEEC endorsement — don't care who's holding the qualification. They care whether you've got it.

Is your solar project close to an airport or airfield? ✈️

If so, there's a report you'll likely need before your installation can go ahead — and it's easy to miss.

A Glint & Glare Report is a photometric assessment that models how sunlight reflects off a proposed solar array and what impact that reflection could have on pilots and air traffic in the surrounding airspace. It's a requirement enforced by the Civil Aviation Authority for installations near flight paths and airfields.

Here's what makes this one worth knowing about:
