Flashback to the Coastal Protection Work in Strand, Western Cape.
Completed in 2018, this R82 million coastal protection project in Strand, Western Cape, saw the construction of a 1.5km seawall designed to reduce overtopping, combat coastal erosion, and minimise sand encroachment along Beach Road.
The project included major infrastructure upgrades, from seawall construction and stormwater improvements to pipeline relocations, pedestrian walkways, beach access points, and landscaping enhancements.
Working in a harsh marine environment presented significant challenges, but through careful planning and ex*****on, the project delivered long-term protection and improved public infrastructure for the Strand beachfront.
