The Collective

The Collective Make a splash with The Collective The Collective is an interest group, started by three UCT students at the beginning of 2011.

Michelle Olivier, Mica La Vita and Yvette Adams are all undergraduates at UCT, housed in the Engineering and Built Environment, Humanities and Commerce faculties respectively. They met at a week-long leadership conference in 2010 hosted by the Department of Student Affairs and the Career Development Centre. A shared passion for broadening the scope of where learning takes place, leadership develop

ment and investigating issues of identity led these three dynamic students to form The Collective. Through events, blog discussions and written articles The Collective seeks to open spaces for conversations to develop, that people do not usually have the occasion to engage in.
