A lot of people think painting a wall in a room is quick and easy - all you need to do is grab a paint-brush and paint from Builders and you are all set.

Wrong. You need to prep your space before you can start painting.

1. Move all the furniture away from the chosen wall. (obviously)
2. Place drop sheets on the floor - make sure that all the spaces are covered.
3. Use masking tape to tape your ceiling corners and skirting - trust me this will save you a lot of time.
4. Make sure your wall is clean before you apply anything.
5. If there are any holes or blemishes you can apply Pollyfiller (ask your hardware store for the interior brand)
6. Sand the now dry Pollyfiller with sand paper until it is smooth.
6. If the wall has a high-gloss finish or is a darker colour you may want to start with a Primer first so that you don't waste your wall paint.
