Cape Town Plastic Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd was founded to strengthen local manufacturing, protect jobs, and ensure a reliable supply of high-quality plastic components. Our journey began when Creative Housewares, a leading small appliance provider, faced supply chain disruptions during South Africa’s 2022–2023 load-shedding crisis. One facility in Atlantis, operating in a load-shedding-exempt zone,
became crucial. When it faced closure due to the owner’s retirement, we took decisive action. With support from our Spanish shareholders, we acquired the facility, securing over 40 jobs and ensuring production continuity. This investment gave us full control over injection molding, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and local industry growth. Our facility operates 16 injection molding machines, with ongoing upgrades to enhance efficiency. We recycle post-production waste and have improved cooling systems to boost productivity while reducing environmental impact. To ensure continuity, we maintain an in-house toolroom and an 800 kVA generator. In 2024, we expanded with a 570-ton injection molding machine featuring robotic automation. We’ve since added three more high-capacity machines:
- A 370-ton machine for high-wear plastics
- A 550-ton machine with robotic automation
- A 650-ton machine, producing South Africa’s first locally made box and turbine floor fans
