Achieving the correct finish is not simply a polishing exercise. The required approach depends on several factors, including:

The salvage of sunken vessels was completed as a joint effort between ๐Ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž, ๐’๐€๐Œ๐’๐€, and ๐‚๐š๐ฉ๐ž๐๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž, with ๐‘๐จ๐›๐ข๐ง ๐‚๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ๐ญ๐จ๐ง leading and coordinating the recovery of the first of three vessels.

An old derelict vessel poses a few challenges when trying to get it into a floating state again.
The structure is often compromised, which raises the risks to personnel, equipment and the public.

Having a fail-safe method and risk assessment is paramount.
