GIC’s origins as a positive agent of change are rooted in South Africa. Our focus remains on changing lives at scale, today and tomorrow.

We specialise in the design, procurement, and management of world-class infrastructure projects, with offices across South Africa. Many of these projects focus on the formalisation of underserved communities, helping to create spaces that promote human dignity, economic opportunity, safety, wellness, and long-term success.

Through accountable governance, compliant delivery practices, and trusted implementation, we remain committed to infrastructure that not only transforms spaces, but strengthens the communities connected to them.

What is a P3 (Public-Private Partnership)?

A P3 is a collaboration model between government and the private sector to deliver essential infrastructure and public services.

Instead of government carrying the full burden of funding, design, and delivery, a P3 brings in private sector expertise to co-develop solutions that are faster, more efficient, and built for long-term impact.

In an African context, P3s are especially important in addressing infrastructure backlogs and unlocking delivery at scale.

• Government defines the need and sets the public mandate
• Private sector partners design, finance, build, and often maintain project infrastructure
• Risk, responsibility, and accountability are shared across both parties

At its core, a P3 is not just a funding model - it’s a partnership model designed to deliver infrastructure that works for people, economies, and future growth.

Infrastructure + local participation amplifies impact

Projects that prioritise local labour and procurement:
Increase household incomes in surrounding communities
Supports small local businesses
Strengthens economic linkages within and outside the community

This creates direct, indirect, and induced effects - the three layers economists use to measure total economic impact.

At , locally driven implementation is not only about delivery on site but creating long-term economic participation that extends beyond the lifespan of a project. Through structured engagement and responsible infrastructure delivery, communities become part of the value chain driving sustainable development.

From snow to completion, the Barkly East project (today Ekhphini) in the Eastern Cape reflects our commitment to building dignified, inclusive, and well-serviced communities - where people can live, grow, and thrive.

65 local community members were employed on the project, including 30 youth and 7 women, with several local SMMEs engaged to support local economic development and strengthen community participation throughout delivery.

At , compliant and locally driven implementation is central to creating infrastructure that is both impactful and sustainable.

Paarl Gimnasium has enjoyed an outstanding 2026 season thus far, winning 10 of their 11 fixtures, with their only loss coming against Hoërskool Stellenberg. At the 2026 Wildeklawer tournament in Kimberley, Gimmies put in one of the statement performances of the tournament, defeating traditional KwaZulu-Natal stalwart, Durban High School, 47-7.

From carries that always got Gimmies over the gain line to sharp finishing, the Paarl side controlled proceedings through their superior kicking game on and off the tea. The victory served as a warning to the school’s rivals, with Gimmies later going on to handily beat Boland Landbou, Bishops, and Wynberg High after their exploits in Kimberley.

GIC is a proud supporter of Paarl Gimnasium’s rugby program and how sports can act as a positive catalyst in the lives of its participants.

The Wildeklawer tournament has grown into one of the premier schoolboy rugby festivals in the world because of fixtures like Paarl Boys’ High School versus Northwood. Boishaai have traditionally ranked among South Africa’s leading rugby schools, with several publishers ranking Boishaai the number one school in 2025. Northwood by comparison had enjoyed a competitive season prior to Wildeklawer, beating leading KwaZulu-Natal Schools such as Glenwood, Maritzburg College, and DHS, while falling just short against Westville Boys’ High.

In a pulsating clash, Northwood pushed Noishaai all the way with a spirited and physical performance, led by their scrum, but the Paarl side held firm under pressure, claiming a hard-fought victory.

Never has schoolboy rugby in South Africa been so competitive.

GIC is a proud supporter of Paarl Boys’ High School’s rugby program, and how sports shapes the lives of players and fans alike in positive ways.

Rugby, similar to other sports, is unforgiving in how no lead is secure until the final whistle. At the 2026 Wildeklawer Tournament in Kimberly in April, Hoër Landbouskool Oakdale were hoping to secure consecutive victories against Stellenbosch heavyweights Paul Roos Gimnasium after defeating them in Riversdale in 2025.

However, it was not to be, with a penalty in the dying stages allowing Paul Roos to claim a hard-fought 15-13 victory. However, then came the response.

Against Westville Boys’ High, Oakdale produced a clinical and powerful display built on a game plan media have described as “granite” to secure a 40–24 victory. The match saw Westville’s ball-in-hand style clashing with Oakdale’s forward-orientated structure, a classic case of rugby’s yin and yang that allows all persons, regardless of shape and size, to play a game they love.

GIC is a proud supporter of Oakdale’s rugby program and sport’s ability to change lives on and off the field through the lessons it teaches and joy it brings its participants.
