🌧️ COMMUNITY APPRECIATION POST 🌧️
What a week it has been for Ceres and the greater Witzenberg area. Since Monday’s severe stormy weather, we’ve seen our community come together in truly incredible ways. ❤️
We would like to thank each and every person for your patience, support, and positivity throughout these challenging times. Despite difficult conditions, the spirit of our town remained strong.
A special thank you to Herotel for helping us stay connected with WiFi access while cellphone signal was down. It was wonderful seeing people gather, connect, share stories, and support one another during the outages.
To the amazing guesthouse community in Ceres, thank you for accommodating stranded guests during times without power, while still making arrangements to prepare flooded rooms and spaces for use. Your dedication, hospitality, and willingness to help during difficult circumstances truly made a difference.
A massive shoutout as well to Witzenberg Municipality - Official and all emergency and repair teams working tirelessly to restore services and get our town back to normal after the extreme weather conditions. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. 👏
Mitchell’s Pass remains closed, and we wish all parties involved strength and safety as restoration work continues. Reopening the pass will help ease pressure on the fuel supply network and assist in ensuring sufficient stock reaches town again.
And lastly, the BIGGEST thank you goes to our incredible Shell Ceres staff. Through miserable weather conditions, long hours, and challenging circumstances, you continued serving every customer with smiles, positivity, and professionalism. We are incredibly proud of each one of you. ⭐
Ceres is built on community, resilience, and people helping people! This week proved exactly that!!
Stay safe, stay warm, and thank you for standing together with us.
