Standard or custom steel structure, which does your project actually need?
Standard structures win on speed: fixed spans, quick pricing, sometimes stock availability. Good fit for a simple, regular footprint.
But if your site is irregular, needs to handle cranes or mezzanine levels, or has to tie into existing buildings a custom design isn't the "expensive upgrade" people assume. It's the only approach that actually fits.
And custom doesn't have to mean slow. Planned properly from day one with an experienced fabricator involved early, a custom structure moves through workshop and site as efficiently as a standard build. The complexity only creeps in when design happens in isolation from the people building it.
The real question isn't "what's available off the shelf." It's "what does this site actually need."

A custom structure planned properly from the start, with the fabricator and engineer involved early, isn't a slower version of a standard build. It's a structure engineered to actually fit its purpose the first time.
