It's an honor and privilege to participate in the 2024 Impact Days in Vienna. Our Managing Director was nominated by UNIDO in 2023 to serve as an alum and business expert on the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP). This year, she actively contributed to side event discussions and judging for the global pitching competition. In recognition of her valuable contributions and impact, the GCIP team honored our Managing Director for her outstanding commitment to the program.

This week our MD is in Vienna attending Cleantech Days International Centre. Various panel sessions are discussiing the role of Cleantech Innovation in achieving 2030 climate & SDG targets. All the panels emphasize the importance of Innovation as key for achieving sustainable development targets and transition to circular economy. UNIDO is global partner working with several countries to drive industrial development through innovation with special focus on Cleantech Innovation. Global Cleantech Innovation Programme is one of the key UNIDO programs currently implemented in 16 GCIP network countries.

Our MD represent SA Cleantech innovators as GCIP global advisory board member and alumni for GCIPSA 2016 cohort where AET AFRICA won most promising youth led business. As active change agent & visionary leader, this is a series of policy dialogues and conferences to advocate and building matured innovation ecosystem especially for cleantech.This is a follow-up event on IEA energy efficiency conference in Kenya where our MD participated in roundtable discussions on innovation, technology and people as key to achieve energy efficiency targets

We were honored to participate in International Energy Agency (IEA)'s 9th Annual Global conference in Nairobi, Kenya 21-22 May 2024. Our MD Sandiswa Qayi actively participated on round table discussions as speaker& discussion leader with special focus on innovation, technology and people. The round table sessions were organised by Energy Efficiency Movement, Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), and the World Economic Forum.

This exclusive roundtable brought together leaders from businesses and international organisations to explore the crucial role of the private sector in advancing energy efficiency initiatives. Key take outs are :
1. Energy efficiency is key for achieving climate change targets & sustainable development
2. Cleantech Innovation solutions, technology & people with relevant green skills are key to achieve these targets
3. Strategic partnerships and collaborations are key and we need coordination of existing initiatives to make positive impact
4. Financing and incentives are key to implement and require long-term view
5. Government is key enabler through regulations, policies, frameworks, monitoring and strategic leadership with firm commitment from all spheres of government

Highlights: INTERNATIONAL VIENNA ENERGY AND CLIMATE FORUM.

Our Managing Director, Ms Qayi has been invited by the co-organizers of the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF) -
the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Federal Ministry for
European and International Affairs of Austria, the Austrian Development Agency and the
International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, to participate
at the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum 2023.
The International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum will gather senior decision-makers,
international experts and other stakeholders on 2 and 3 November 2023 at the Hofburg Conference
Centre in Vienna, Austria.
The two-day event takes place at a critical moment for global climate action and sustainable
development. Convening only a few weeks before the United Nations Climate Conference COP 28,
the Forum will provide insightful trends and practical solutions to best support the global summit.

Guided by the motto “Progress by Innovation”, the forum will delve into key priorities, showcase solutions implemented by Governments, the private sector, academia and
various stakeholders from around the world and highlight the action-oriented steps required to
achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Discussions will focus on means to scale up solutions
and address challenges.
