Housebreaking Suspects Apprehended – Bluff

At approximately 15:00 today, Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit received information regarding a housebreaking that had occurred earlier that morning along Bluff Road. Intelligence indicated that the suspects intended to return to the property during the afternoon to steal additional items.

Members of the Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit, together with a member of the Bluff CPF, were actively patrolling the area when an alert was circulated on the Bluff RTL8 group reporting a housebreaking in progress at the same property.

Within seconds, Fitama Special Operations Unit members, assisted by Bluff CPF, arrived on scene. Upon seeing the responding members, one suspect fled through the rear of the property while the second suspect was immediately apprehended.

Members of Brighton Beach SAPS arrived within minutes and took the first suspect into custody. Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit then launched a search for the second suspect, who was successfully located and apprehended near a nearby shopping centre.

During the investigation, the suspects led members to a nearby informal settlement where they had sold some of the items stolen during the housebreaking earlier that morning. Efforts were made to recover the stolen property as part of the ongoing investigation.

Fitama Protection Services commends the swift response, teamwork, and cooperation between the Special Operations Unit, Bluff CPF, Bluff RTL8, Brighton Beach SAPS, which resulted in the successful apprehension of both suspects and significant progress in recovering the stolen property.

Recovery of Stolen Nissan Navara

Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit members were conducting patrols in the Bluff area when information was received via local CPF groups regarding a Nissan Navara that had just been stolen.

Members immediately sprang into action and established contact with various vehicle tracking companies. Working hand in hand with the tracking company, valuable information was obtained regarding the vehicle's whereabouts.

The Special Operations Unit responded swiftly to the identified location in the Mobeni area, south of Durban, where the stolen Nissan Navara was successfully recovered. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to be partially stripped and concealed inside a garage.

The recovered vehicle was secured and subsequently towed to SAPS for further processing and investigation.

Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit was alerted to two suspects who had allegedly stolen power tools from a property on Watsonia Road, Bluff, and were attempting to sell the stolen items in Regent Avenue, Bluff.

Information regarding the suspects was circulated on a Bluff CPF communication group.

Members from TSS were engaging with the suspects when both individuals fled the scene on foot. A pursuit immediately commenced, with the suspects yard-hopping through several properties before entering the Cluver Crescent area within Bluff.

Members from Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit, TSS, All Secure, Protech Guarding, and Bluff CPF coordinated efforts and successfully contained the area while continuing the search for the suspects.

After a lengthy chase, a member of the Fitama Special Operations Unit noticed a dog persistently barking near a wall on a property in Cluver Crescent. A white bakkie was parked within the yard, and the member immediately alerted other responders operating in that sector to investigate.

Upon checking the vehicle, members discovered one of the suspects hiding underneath the white bakkie. The suspect was apprehended without incident, detained, and transported to Brighton Beach SAPS for further investigation.

Fitama Protection Services commends all responding security personnel and community members for their coordinated efforts, which contributed to the successful apprehension of the suspect.

Fitama Protection Services – Special Operations Unit

Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit received information regarding the theft of a bronze Toyota Corolla Cross in the Umbilo area.

The vehicle's tracking device initially updated in the Lamontville area and later in Montclair. Members from the tracking company, together with Fitama Protection Services Special Operations Unit, immediately responded and conducted an extensive search of the reported locations.

Upon arriving at the last known location, members were unable to locate the vehicle. A thorough and lengthy search of the surrounding area was subsequently conducted.

The persistence and dedication of the members paid off when the stolen motor vehicle was located in a dead-end road in the Woodlands area. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the suspects had changed the vehicle's number plates in an apparent attempt to avoid detection.

The vehicle was successfully recovered and handed over for further investigation.

Fitama Protection Services commends all members involved for their professionalism, commitment, and determination in ensuring the successful recovery of the stolen vehicle.

Incident Overview:
While conducting routine patrols on Leicester Road in the Mobeni/Montclair area, members of the Special Operations Unit observed a robbery from persons in progress involving a white Renault Triber.

Response and Actions Taken:
The white Renault Triber vehicle fled the scene at high speed, leaving the armed suspect behind. Upon noticing the marked patrol vehicle, the suspect attempted to evade arrest on foot. Members of the Special Operations Unit immediately initiated a foot pursuit.
During the pursuit, the suspect discarded a 9mm handgun by throwing it underneath a truck in an attempt to avoid being linked to the weapon. The unit maintained pursuit, successfully cornering the suspect, who subsequently surrendered.

Outcome:
One suspect was successfully apprehended.
One 9mm handgun was recovered from the scene.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The suspect was placed under arrest and handed over to SAPS for further investigation and processing.

Conclusion:
The swift response, effective coordination, and professionalism displayed by the Special Operations Unit led to the successful apprehension of an armed suspect and the recovery of an illegal firearm. This operation contributed to crime prevention efforts in the Mobeni/Montclair area and ensured the safety of the community.
