Praise be to our King of Kings and Lord of Lords! He has heard all our prayers, where two or more are gathered... He hears our call..
Ben is drilling in Colchester Port Elizabeth, and was expected to go 30m deep for solid rock. 1st borehole 30m, no rock.. they told him ok, move to 2nd. Here he did the same, 30m, no rock or anything but sludge, go deeper to 50m they said.. we had to make another trip to Dbn as he only packed enough rods to go to 35m. Never has it happened to him in past 11 years where we drill the full required meters, it's always less..
So back to PE with the extra rods, corebarrels and drilling bits.. he reaches 40m and starts drilling through cobbles and boulders... this baffles everyone, even the Geologists... a river bed 40m below ground? In the mean time these cobbles and boulders rip our bits to pieces.. 4 new bits and they still want to see what's at 50m depth.
Thursday he hits 49.5m, and as he tries to hoist the rods and corebarrel back out, he's stuck. All our equipment is down that hole.. he tries the whole Friday to fish and get it out. Then he drills casing down over the rods to see if he can crush the boulder that has fallen on top of his corebarrel 49m deep, but he only has 40m of casing.. so he is short..
Sunday comes, he tries again, but only manages to get 3 rods out.. we still have 10 in the hole, a complete corebarrel with a new bit.. if we leave this in the hole [sometimes it's the only thing left if nothing works] but that is more than a R100k.
So he tries whole day, no luck. He has been praying since Thursday to get out. Last night defeated and tired and without any hope left, I said to Him, the devil discourages, now when you feel you can't pray or don't want to, because He is not helping, now is the time to pray the most. Tell our Father in heaven this is all we have, He can do the impossible, He can do everything.
Ben tells me this morning to buy 4 x 3m casing and send with courier, knowing it will only reach him by Wednesday, maybe... He is very down when I speak to him this morning. He hasn't slept well, he is stressed, if we don't get this out, we can't complete the job. We are literally at God's mercy. I say to him, I will ask many to pray specifically for him. Told him there is nothing you can do today till the Xtra casing comes. Give it to the Lord.. by 11am today he let's me know that he is at the site. He can't sit and do nothing.
He is going to try again with the casing he has.. bear in mind he is short 10meters... I tell him, don't get discouraged, the casing will get there eventually, if it doesn't work today, he can try when the casing arrives..
14:10 I get one sentence " I am out, everything out" [after me praying through day, mom praying, Peggy and dad praying, I even asked my boss to say a prayer]
God takes an impossible and makes it possible with 10m casing short.. he loosened those boulders and getting the courage to try again, God hears our calls, and He answers. How can anyone say that there is no God??
My God lives, He answers in His time, He tests our faith, when we have tried all we can, He says, "step aside, let Me work". My first words to Ben was.. thank you Jesus...
So here I say again... thank you Jesus for hearing and answering... when we lay it at your feet, You once again show off with Your amazing power and grace
