🇿🇦 Chad le Clos has become the most decorated male athlete in Commonwealth Games history, claiming his record-breaking 19th medal as part of South Africa's bronze-winning Men's 4x100m Freestyle relay team.

Already South Africa's most decorated male Olympian, Le Clos continues to cement his legacy as one of the country's greatest sporting icons. He also broke a Guinness World Record in 2022 for the most gold medals won by a male swimmer in the FINA Swimming World Cup – a whopping total of 151.

COACH RASSIE ERASMUS MADE SPRINGBOK HISTORY
✍️🏽Good News South Africa
When the Springboks ran onto the field against Scotland at Loftus Versfeld this past weekend, Rassie Erasmus quietly crossed a line no Bok coach has crossed before.

It wa his 55th Test as Springbok head coach, taking him past 2007 Rugby World Cup winner Jake White’s record of 54 matches. No coach has selected and led the national team more often since South Africa played its first Test in 1891. 🏉🏆

The numbers tell an extraordinary story.
In his first 54 Tests, Erasmus recorded 41 victories, one draw and 12 defeats, giving him a winning percentage of 75.93%.

That is considerably higher than South Africa’s historical winning rate when he took charge in 2018.

But Rassie’s contribution cannot be measured only in results.
He inherited a Springbok side ranked sixth in the world and struggling for confidence. He helped rebuild it into a champion team, winning the 2019 Rugby World Cup as head coach and playing a central leadership role as Director of Rugby when the Boks successfully defended the title in 2023.

Perhaps his greatest achievement has been making the Springboks feel like every South African’s team.
SA Rugby president Mark Alexander praised the way Rassie used the country’s diversity as a strength and “galvanised all South Africans behind our team.”

Typical of the man himself, Rassie has played down the milestone.

Congratulations, Rassie. Fifty-five Tests, two World Cups and 1Nation standing proudly behind you.
