Please come have a picnic and enjoy the day with us! Parking inside the fenced area is reserved for members (the loco's and tools weigh a little more than a braai and chops). This past Sunday we had the privilege of seeing this 3.5 inch gauge Britannia that was built by the late Dudley Morton, who was one of the 10 founding members of the old Johannesburg Live Steam Club that used to be at Wemmerpan next to the James Hall museum of transport.
The loco was built sometime during the 60s and used to run at JLSC. When my late grandfather (Jack K**k) joined JLSC, he learned how to operate and drive a miniature steam locomotive on this Britannia. Unfortunately, Dudley Morton passed away in 1972, and the engine was forgotten about, until 2 years ago.
I bought the loco from the family, and I restored the loco over a period of 2 years. There are still a few minor things to sort out, but overall, the locomotive is finished by k**k
