As you have probably heard, the creator of Elastix, PaloSanto Solutions formed a new partnership with 3CX.
As from now Elastix 5 will be available under a licensed commercialization scheme which is very different from before and future software development efforts will shift to Elastix 5.
PaloSanto Solutions also mention that their Elastix training courses will no longer be offered for Elastix 2.5 and Elastix 4.0.
For those who have punted the benefits of Open Source to their customers this might not be a comfortable spot to be in as future upgrades of the Elastix software will carry a license fee.
If you find yourselve in this spot you might want to look at Asterisk as a solution. Having an asterisk system does not mean that you won't have a user friendly interface, in fact we custom develop the interface that you ask for. Our asterisk platforms are easy to use, stable, robust and reliable. There are no license fees and this will not change in the future. Not one of our on-premise client systems have ever been compromised, because a compromised system could lead to financial losses. Security of our systems take top priority.
