SANSA Science Engagement

What a week it was! 🚀 We are still buzzing from World Space Week.
As a team, we made it happen across two provinces. A massive shoutout to STEC@UKZN for collaborating with us on a 2-day teacher development workshop in KZN. It was incredible to equip educators with new skills to teach space science.
At the same time, our team was also in the Eastern Cape facilitating a teacher workshop — because our mission doesn't stop at one province!
We wrapped up the week by taking science to nearby schools in KZN because the best way to learn about the universe is to get your hands dirty (with experiments, of course)! 🧪🌍
Thank you to everyone involved in making this week out of this world. 🌟

There is nothing quite like competition day. 🏆
Last week (September 21st) we hosted our Annual In-House Robotics Competition, and the level of talent in the room was incredible. It’s amazing to see months of hard work pay off in the arena.
We also want to send a huge thank you to the Waldorf Marimba Band for performing and adding such a special atmosphere to the event. The music made the day unforgettable! 🎵🤖

Inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals!
We engaged with Mechanical, Boiler Making, Electrical and Electronics students at Northlink College Bellville South, alongside speakers from CSIR, SAAO, SAASTA and SANSA.
Dr Nale Mudau highlighted how satellites support our everyday lives, while Jucelle Ontong shared insights into SANSA careers and funding opportunities for students interested in the space sector.

Turning theory into sparks! ⚡️ It was an absolute pleasure hosting the Grade 10-12 learners from Ashton Combined Public School for an In-house visit, yesterday. Nothing beats the energy of curious minds getting hands-on with electric circuits. Who knew science could look this cool? 🔬✨

🔬✨ It was a pleasure to collaborate with the Nontsikelelo Albertina Sisulu Science Centre in Cofimvaba during our National Science Month outreach in the Chris Hani District.
Their interactive exhibits complemented SANSA's activities, bringing science to life and giving learners the opportunity to explore scientific concepts through hands-on experiences. Together, we sparked curiosity, inspired young minds, and showed learners that science is exciting, accessible, and full of possibilities.
Thank you for partnering with us to inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators! 🚀
