✈️ **Norden — 100% aviation passion, at 40% scale!**
Now here's something you don't see every day!
Zlin Aviation is developing a seriously impressive 40% scale RC Norden, with a wingspan of **3.61 metres** and an overall length of **2.83 metres**.
And this is far more than an ordinary model. The project is set to feature an aluminium wing, retractable slats, double-slotted flaps and a welded steel fuselage — bringing full-size aircraft engineering into the world of large-scale aeromodelling.
Even the details matter, with carbon-fibre components, landing lights, strobes and a Wig Wag lighting system planned.
It's a fascinating project and a great example of how the passion for aviation spans everything from large-scale models to full-size aircraft.
**We'd love to hear from our followers: are you into RC flying as well as full-size aviation?** And would you fly a model this size?

Norden RC model
With a wingspan of 361 cm and a length of 283 cm, the new 40% scale Norden RC will soon be available for interested aeromodelling enthusiasts.
Following our experience, done years ago with the production of the Bobber RC, we have decided to embark on a similar adventure, driven by consistent demand from enthusiasts worldwide over the last few years, as well as our own personal passion for such aircrafts.
The first prototype is currently under construction and will feature a "Bobber" configuration.
The fuselage consists of welded tubing (with a wall thickness of just 0.3 mm and a weight of only 2.9 kg) and will be equipped with a suspension system (currently in development and not yet visible in the pic) along with a carbon-fiber cowling, seats, instrument panel, floorboard, and wingtips. It will also feature strobe lights and powerful "wig-wag" lights on the leading edges of the wingtips, exactly like the full-scale aircraft.
The wings will be constructed from aeronautical aluminum and will include retractable slats and double-slotted flaps.
The total weight will remain below the 25 kg European legal limit, even while powered by a powerful 4-stroke boxer engine, known for its distinctive sound and torque.
It will be capable of towing large radio-controlled gliders and will be built of course, by the very same company and skilled workers that manufacture the original aircraft. A large RC STOL plane, sold in kit or ready to fly, perfect for aeromodelling enthusiasts and collectors, who will be finally able to get their own radio-controlled Norden.
