⛏️ Mining Series: Secondary Crushing

After the initial crushing stage, manganese ore at Mamatwan mine moves to the Secondary Crusher, where it is reduced even further to achieve the required size for downstream processing.

This critical step helps ensure consistency, improved plant efficiency and prepares the ore for the next phase of its journey. Every load processed through the crusher contributes to delivering a quality product that meets customer expectations.

Behind the machinery is a dedicated team committed to safety, reliability and operational excellence.

HMM Mining Process Series | Episode 3: Run of Mine (ROM)

Every load of manganese has a destination before processing can start.

Once the drilling, blasting and hauling of ore is done, it is transported to the Run of Mine (ROM) pad. This is where ore is received, managed and prepared for the next stages of the mining process.

The ROM stage plays a critical role in maintaining a steady flow of material through our operations. It requires careful planning, coordination and teamwork to ensure efficiency, quality and safety across the value chain.

Watch this episode to see how our teams manage the journey from the pit to the ROM pad and keep our operations moving.

Watch now and discover what happens before processing begins.

Empowering Ability Through Opportunity

Yesterday, we proudly handed over essential equipment to the Ba'One Intellectual Disability Centre in Seodin, Kuruman. The centre is dedicated to developing and empowering adults living with intellectual disabilities through practical skills training.

The centre further provides training in sewing, welding, crafting, woodworking, and other valuable vocational skills, helping beneficiaries build confidence, independence, and opportunities for the future.

The donation included generators, sewing machines, welding equipment, carpentry tools, inverters, toolboxes, fans, and other essential items that will greatly enhance the centre's training programmes.

For a centre that has been operating without electricity, HMM’s donation comes as a game-changer. The new equipment will help overcome long-standing challenges and create a more conducive environment for learning and skills development.

We are honoured to play a part in supporting the incredible work being done at Ba'One and look forward to seeing the positive impact this contribution will have on the lives of its beneficiaries.
