Hi-MO X10: Localized Overheating Prevention Under Shading Conditions

A common but often overlooked risk in PV systems is localized overheating caused by partial shading. Even a small shadow—from a chimney, vent pipe, or accumulated dust—can create a hot spot that significantly raises cell temperature and accelerates module degradation.

In conventional TOPCon modules, testing shows that shaded cells can reach temperatures exceeding 160°C. At this level, material breakdown and long-term reliability become genuine concerns.

The Hi-MO X10, powered by LONGi's HPBC 2.0 technology, addresses this through an internal current diversion mechanism. Under identical shading conditions (50% of a single cell shaded), the module maintains a maximum local temperature of approximately 100°C — a reduction of up to 77°C.

The performance impact is equally notable:

Hi-MO X10 power loss: 10.15%
Conventional TOPCon power loss: 36.48%
