We had one of those Fridays that reminds you why you started.
On site at Longlands Estate with our architect Helmut Orffer, checking on the civil works progress on what will be Hanco and Co's very first residential build. And before anyone asks, yes we brought Nina our Jack Russell. She is an excellent site inspector and works for treats.
Standing in the space that is going to become the master bedroom and looking out at that view was one of those quiet moments where you stop talking and just take it in. The Helderberg range sitting right there behind the estate. The person who wakes up to that every morning is going to feel very lucky indeed.
The civil works are progressing well but it is more than that. You can already feel what this home is going to be.
We have been in commercial and retail construction since day one. Fit-outs, reinstatements, warehouses, malls. We love that work and we are proud of what we deliver. But there is something about building someone's home that is completely different. The stakes feel more personal. The responsibility sits differently.
We are not taking a single square metre of this lightly.
