We are proud to announce the entrepreneurs joining Le Shift Lab, our new incubation programme supporting high-potential GreenTech and Digital Innovation startups across Southern Africa.

Over the coming months, the cohort will benefit from tailored mentorship, expert-led workshops, and valuable connections with the South African and French innovation ecosystems. The programme will conclude with a Demo Day in early 2027, where startups will pitch their solutions to partners and investors.

Celebrating Grade 12 success in Limpopo! 🎓

The 2026 BANKSETA Digital Literacy Programme has officially closed out, and what a week it was.

Over five days in the Magatle Circuit, 38 Grade 12 learners from Tubake Secondary School, Piet N. Aphane Secondary School and Sethwethwa Secondary School came together for training in Scratch coding, computer literacy, and career development and work readiness. The programme wrapped up with a graduation ceremony on 4 July 2026, where every learner walked away with a Certificate of Participation and a laptop of their own.

100% completion rate. All 38 learners finished what they started.

Delivered by the University of the Witwatersrand with funding from BANKSETA, and proudly supported by Tshimologong in bringing digital skills training to life, this initiative gave young people real, practical exposure to coding, digital citizenship, cyber security awareness, CV writing and interview preparation. Skills that matter just as much in the classroom as they do beyond it.

We're proud to have played a part in equipping the next generation with the confidence to thrive in a digital world.

A huge congratulations to the Top 3 finalists who pitched their visionary e-mobility businesses at the National Cleantech E-Mobility Challenge on Monday, 20 July!

From pioneering clean transport systems to intelligent mobility technologies, these innovators impressed our panel of judges with solutions that are driving the future of efficient, accessible, and green transportation.

Having secured their spots in the award ceremony, these three standout startups are officially advancing to the next stage of the programme.

Another cohort, another step forward. Yesterday we celebrated the graduation of the 6th cohort of the Samsung Software Development Programme at Tshimologong: 18 talented interns, 12 months of hard work, and a huge step towards their careers in tech.

With Samsung's continued investment, 89 graduates have now come through this programme, with an 83% employment absorption rate. Proud doesn't quite cover it. 👏

48 hours of pure innovation! 🚀

We just finished our "Campus Quest" Hackathon with Wits Digital Art, and the energy was electric.

We challenged participants to use AI for good in building gamified solutions to make student onboarding at Wits University smoother, more social, and more supportive. By following our "Brains Over Bots" ethical approach, the teams proved that tech + empathy = real-world impact. 💡✨
