1) Clean the gutters, especially in autumn weather where leaves and twigs fall fast daily. If your house is close to tall trees, this is important to prevent clogging and water backup, as this may push the debris back into your roof and cause extensive damage.

2) Dry leaves and twigs in the gutter can also create a fire hazard, which as you know could become a huge and tragic disaster. To prevent this, clean your gutters and pipes at least once or twice a year if you have tall trees nearby.

3) Replace damaged rooftiles timeously to prevent further damage which may even damage your ceiling, wiring and lighting.

4) Make sure you have the correct equipment and tools before attempting to check or clean your roof and gutters.
