Marcus learned business on a factory floor. In the 90s, his family's plastics manufacturing business grew threefold in just over two years. Thirty years later, he's back on the factory floor with us.

His focus is building the systems and processes that will let IRP scale, so every customer gets the same superior experience on every order. With IRP turning 40 next year, he joins at an exciting time.

Meet Tom Macdonald

Tom is currently undergoing in-house training at IRP Engineering powered by SystemFlex, developing the specialist skills needed to build a career in injection moulding toolmaking.

His training is being guided by Roderick, who heads up our Tool Room. Under Roderick's guidance, Tom is learning how to strip and service tools while developing a deeper understanding of the mechanics and operation of injection moulding tools. We’re proud to support him as he builds his knowledge, skills and experience from the ground up.

Precision U-channels for our CC600 crate conveyor chain, cut in-house at IRP.

Our 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒓 𝑭𝒂𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 laser cut these U-channels in-house, ready for a customer to run our CC600 chain on their line.

Until recently, a job like this meant waiting on an outside fabricator. Now we cut, form and fit it ourselves, so customers get the chain and the steelwork it runs in from one supplier, made to measure and on a shorter lead time.

That's the real value of our fabrication department: we're not just supplying components anymore. We can deliver the complete conveying solution, from retrofits and line extensions to custom parts, all under one roof.

Meet Arnold Nyathi.

Arnold started his journey at IRP Engineering powered by SystemFlex as a cleaner at our old factory, before moving into the Stores Department, where he worked as a Materials Picker and packed and wrapped chains.

His determination and willingness to grow saw him move into the Moulding Department as an Operator. From there, he continued to work his way up, eventually becoming an Injection Moulding Day Shift Supervisor, the position he holds today.

Arnold's story is a great example of what can be achieved through hard work, commitment and taking every opportunity to grow. From starting at an entry-level position, to leading a team. This is what career growth at IRP Engineering powered by SystemFlex looks like.
