What does this mean for the engineering profession?

The Identification of Engineering Work Rules form part of South Africa’s regulatory framework for engineering and are designed to support public safety, professional accountability and competent engineering practice.

The Rules reinforce an important principle: engineering work should be undertaken by appropriately qualified, experienced and professionally registered practitioners who can demonstrate the competence and judgement required for the work.

They also contribute to strengthening professionalism across the sector and protecting the public, the environment and our engineering infrastructure.

Investing in the future of our youth, one classroom at a time! 📚🔧

ECSA proudly joined the Council for the Built Environment (CBE) Rural Schools Awareness Programme at Ditsepu High School in Ga-Maja, Limpopo.

Engaging with around 1,000 Grade 10 to 12 learners from the surrounding area, our team connected with students, educators, and industry stakeholders to share essential insights on higher education pathways, funding opportunities, and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

We remain committed to supporting learners in remote areas and equipping them with the resources they need to build sustainable careers and shape a better tomorrow.
