As you may know, we recently opened a new Skills Development Centre, which is already providing training for young people interested in carpentry. We’re currently focussing on refurbishing donated furniture items, which can be repaired and then sold to generate income for the Home. But the main purpose is to give our older children the practical experience that leads to employment, and not just in the field of carpentry. 🛠️🪚🧰

Imagine the opportunities out there for young people with experience in welding! Companies producing decor items, furniture and security products like burglar bars and gates. What about plumbing? Mechanics? The possibilities are limited only by the lack of funding for materials, equipment and qualified skills training.

Your contribution of R500 will provide materials – wood and metal – for our carpentry and welding courses. R750 buys a set of protective clothing, and R1 000 helps towards machinery and tools. Smaller gifts are also greatly appreciated. Even R100 buys a set of screwdrivers! 🪜🔩🪛
