As part of our National Science Month 2026 celebrations, the Alphas and Alpharines Foundation (AAF), proudly supported by Bashumi Instruments and Control Services (BICS), will be launching our Scientist of the Week recognition campaign.

Throughout July, we will spotlight outstanding African scientists whose work, leadership, discoveries, and innovations continue to shape our communities, our continent, and the world. Each week, we will share the story of a scientist who inspires curiosity, excellence, and a passion for STEM.

By celebrating those who came before us and those making an impact today, we hope to inspire the next generation of scientists, researchers, innovators, and problem-solvers.

As we pause, we reflect on the significance of 16 June 1976, when the youth of Soweto stood up for their right to learn, shaping the future of South Africa.

Today is Lebogang Morapedi's last day at BICS, and we are sending her off with gratitude and every good wish for what comes next.

Lebogang joined us just over three years ago as a sales trainee and grew into a valued external sales support role. Over that time, she committed herself fully to the BICS mission and to the clients and colleagues she worked alongside.

Watching someone grow with the team and then step into a new chapter is one of the more rewarding parts of building a company. We are proud of the path she has walked here and confident she will carry the same dedication into her next role.

Lebogang, thank you for everything you gave this team. We look forward to seeing where your career takes you.
