The end of February this year, marks not only the end of our fiscal year, but also the end of an era. We say goodbye to Roger, who after 35 years has decided to retire.
What started as a casual chat around the table over lunch, turned into a thriving, successful business, that has grown from strength to strength each year under the leadership of Roger and his partners.
Roger was the kind of leader who never acted like a "boss" in the traditional sense. He was humble enough to listen to anyone, kind enough to care about our lives outside of work, and supportive when things got chaotic. He was the one you went to for sound advice, and even though he was not afraid to give you a necessary "reality check" (or a firm reprimand) when you missed the mark, you always walked out of his office feeling better than when you walked in. He led with a rare mix of kindness and toughness that earned him the respect of every single person who walked through our doors.
Roger built Hydromobile on trust, loyalty, and a good old fashion handshake. Customers and suppliers alike still hold him in high regard due to his unwavering ethics, loyalty and most importantly, his friendship.
Thanks to the solid foundations laid by Roger, we have no doubt that under the leadership of Gert and his right-hand lady, Christina, Hydromobile will continue to grow and thrive for many years to come.
