Irregular pressure and flow supply to cooking retorts
Application: Cool water supply
Pump description: NT80-200CCM
Challenge
When we visited a client, he had a problem with his pumps giving fluctuating pressures on a cool water supply line, so much so that it was shaking the pipework and sending pressure gauges to full capacity and then back to a low pressure in a matter of seconds. Graphs showed that the pumps were not delivering the necessary flow or pressure.
Solution
We took the opportunity to offer the client the best pumping solution. After discussions with the engineering manager, we were clear on what the client’s requirements were. According to his system needs, we carefully selected our NT end suction pump, designed for clean liquids, in conjunction with a slow-speed motor. This would allow for less wear on mechanical rotating elements within the pump, which would be utilised in the client’s canned-food cooking process.
Results
Not only did we supply the complete pump set, but also installed and supplied all the necessary piping, bellows and valves. After installation we followed up with client and, as promised, the irregular pressure and flow problems were something of the past. We are proud to share that the pump currently runs for about 18 hours a day with no problems whatsoever.
Just another day at the office for us.
