Insulation doesn't "add warmth" or "add cool" — it slows heat from moving at all. In winter that means the heat inside your home stays put instead of escaping through the ceiling. In summer it means the heat building up in your roof space stays out of your living areas. Same barrier, same principle, working in both directions all year round.

It's why a well-insulated ceiling pays for itself twice — once each season.
