Shepherd’s Tree Workshop in the industrial area in Knysna, Garden Route, specializes in bringing a beautiful yet unique range of contemporary and vintage reproduction furniture and décor to the retail and interior design industry. The workshop manufactures all of the products offered in their catalogue and introduce new ideas and samples on a regular basis. They also manufacture bespoke furniture

and fittings on request so please feel free to use the contact page for a quotation. Terry Hayward, who heads the carpentry workshop, is passionate about working with wood. With 20 years of carpentry experience behind him, the workshop manufactures a wide range of furniture from vintage reproduction furniture to modern contemporary. The workshop undertakes all types of custom carpentry from bespoke tables to paint techniques and patinas, furniture repairs and upholstery. Shepherd's Tree are proud to own their own small portable wood mill and are able to focus on upcycling timber that was destined for the woodchipper. A wonderful example of this is a range of furniture made from Mountain Cedar from the St Georges Church yard in Knysna (planted in 1845) and another range of pieces made from Oak, somewhat older, from the Belvidere Trinity Church yard. It just feels right to give these grand old dames another couple of decades to be loved and admired.

We often get requests from clients for bespoke items of furniture. Our carpenters love the challenge of being shown a photograph and being told "We want this. By Monday"
From bar counters to beds, bridge tables to butcher's blocks, we've done it.
They also love to add interest to their day by coming up with once-off quirky objects d'art.
Our chaps in the workshop are a creative bunch who aren't half bad at giving old things a new lease on life...some quirky, all of them beautiful.
