Historic Milestone: BASF South Africa Achieves Level 1 B-BBEE Status!

BASF South Africa has made history as the first non-South African multinational chemical company to achieve a Level 1 B-BBEE rating!

This achievement is more than a number, it’s about inclusive growth, transformation, and creating opportunities for generations to come.

Here’s how we are driving impact:
✅ 30% Black women ownership through the BASF South Africa Trust

Hands in Action. Hearts in Service!

This , BASF South Africa proudly united over 50 employees to uplift communities in Johannesburg and KwaZulu-Natal — where we operate two manufacturing sites.

In partnership with Corinthians Africa, Horizon Farm Trust, and Kansai Plascon, our teams brought this year’s theme “It is still in our hands to combat poverty and inequality” to life through:

- Revamped community gardens

- Painted and refreshed shared spaces

- Played sports games like netball and blind soccer to highlight inclusivity

- Shared meals celebrating unity and resilience

“This collaboration exemplifies the power of partnership in driving sustainable change,” said Sibonakaliso Shabangu, Head of HR & Business Services Africa and Interim MD, BASF South Africa.

Mandela Day is more than a date — it is a call to action. And this year, we answered it with purpose and passion!
