With our strong environmental focus, TGME has analysed various mining methods to determine which impacts the environment the least. Contour haulback mining allows for concurrent rehabilitation of the mining footprint thereby minimising the impact of our Theta Project open-cut mine. By taking the environment into great consideration, we ensure that our operations in Pilgrim’s Rest bring about welcomed advantages as opposed to negative consequences.

At TGME, we believe in actively transforming the areas we operate in through sustainable development, and we work with governing bodies such as the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) to do so.
