On Human Rights Day, we reflect on the rights that empower our communities and the democracy we share. On Saturday, 21 March 2026, we observe this day under the theme “Bill of Rights at 30: Making Human Dignity Real.”

As we mark 30 years since the adoption of South Africa’s Bill of Rights, we are reminded to continue working towards fairness, opportunity, and equality for all South Africans, ensuring human dignity is at the heart of our society.

Solar energy isn’t just clean — it’s also cost-effective! Once solar panels are installed, they generate electricity with very low operating costs. And because the sun is a renewable source, we never run out of sunshine to keep the energy flowing.

That’s why solar power is becoming a key part of South Africa’s energy mix and a sustainable choice for communities everywhere.

Working at a solar plant comes with its unique challenges — from high-voltage equipment to uneven terrain and even the occasional wildlife encounter. That’s why proper safety gear is non-negotiable.

Hard hats protect our team from head injuries.
Gloves ensure safe handling of tools and equipment.
Snake gaiters keep our staff safe from unexpected wildlife on-site.

Every piece of gear is designed to keep our people safe while they work on site!

Solar energy starts with the sun — the most powerful energy source for our planet. Our photovoltaic (PV) panels are made up of many solar cells that convert sunlight into electricity. When sunlight hits these cells, it triggers an electronic reaction that generates a flow of electricity which is then converted for everyday use.

Simply put:
Sunlight → Solar cells → Electricity → Clean power for the grid

Solar technology harnesses the sun’s energy without burning fossil fuels.

A small family-run business in Onseepkans is turning invasive alien trees into reliable firewood for local households. With new equipment, safety training, and funding support, the enterprise—run by cousins Roger and Nadine Josob—now delivers up to 30 orders a month, even supplying tourists and nearby campsites. Their story shows how the right support can help rural entrepreneurs grow, create jobs, and meet essential community needs.
