Agri EC, together with representatives from the Gamtoos Water Users Association, the Langkloof Farmers Association, and other key role players, are attending an engagement in Joubertina this morning to bring several water-related issues to the attention of the Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, Dr Jack Bloom.

These issues include water supply, pollution caused by dysfunctional sewage treatment works, and the failure to complete the water-use verification and validation process.

Agri EC leadership visited members in Hofmeyr, Steynsburg and Molteno over the last couple of days.

We had the opportunity to engage and listen to concerns raised. Most importantly, it created an opportunity for open conversations and a better understanding of the challenges facing our agricultural community.

The Sarah Baartman East FPA is running a 2-day Fire Boss Training conducted by Louis van Dyk at the Addo Elephant National Park.

The training provides landowners with the tools and knowledge to develop an initial response and fire attack plan, focusing on resource management and incident management during the crucial stages of a fire.

Thank you to Agri SA Disaster Relief Fund for making this possible.

Training for other FPAs that applied will also be taking place.

Dankie vir julle betrokkenheid en dat die manne vir ons kon deel oor die landbouprogram by die skool!

Hoërskool Burgersdorp by Agri OK 2026

Hoërskool Burgersdorp het vanjaar vir die heel eerste keer deelgeneem aan die Agri OK-konferensie wat op 5 en 6 Augustus by Mentorskraal in Jeffreysbaai plaasgevind het.

Ons is ongelooflik trots op Henricho Rossouw (Gr. 10) en Christiaan Haumann (Gr. 9), twee van ons Blikkies Landboukursus-leerders, wat die skool by hierdie besonderse geleentheid verteenwoordig het.

Woensdagaand het hulle die Jong Boer van die Jaar-dinee bygewoon waar hulle kon leer by van Suid-Afrika se voorste jong boere. Tydens die kongres het hulle waardevolle kennis opgedoen oor die toekoms van landbou, markbestuur, innovasie en die uitdagings én geleenthede wat die bedryf bied.

Dit was lekker om ook van ons oud-leerders by die geleentheid te kon sien. Julle is almal uitstekende ambassadeurs vir ons skool!

'n Opregte woord van dank aan die Burgersdorp Boerevereniging vir die geleentheid en bereidwilligheid om ons leerders saam te neem. Baie dankie ook aan AWRO Ostro Farming vir hul finansiële ondersteuning wat hierdie ervaring moontlik gemaak het.
