Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist
Company: Granroth - Engineering Excellence in Special Purpose Production Machinery
Location: Port Elizabeth, South Africa

We are seeking a dedicated CNC Mill Machinist to contribute to the excellence of our manufacturing processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. CNC Milling Operations:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture machine components based on detailed engineering drawings.
- Proficiently use Edgecam and Fanuc controls to program and execute precision machining tasks.

2. Precision Manufacturing:
- Ensure the highest level of precision and quality in all machining operations.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to meet tight tolerances and engineering specifications.

3. Tooling and Fixture Expertise:
- Select, set up, and troubleshoot appropriate tooling and fixtures for each machining job.
- Conduct regular maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

4. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough in-process and final inspections to verify that components meet or exceed quality standards.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to address any deviations from specifications.

5. Documentation and Continuous Improvement:
- Maintain accurate records of machining processes, tooling configurations, and adjustments made during production.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of machining processes through feedback and suggestions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Education:
- Matric certificate or equivalent; additional technical certifications in toolmaking, fitting & turning, or CNC machining are desirable.

2. Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Mill Machinist programming custom complex components (not only operating production CNC machinery).

3. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Edgecam and experience with Fanuc controls for CNC mill operations.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tool selection, and fixture setup.

4. Precision and Attention to Detail:
- Demonstrated ability to consistently produce high-precision components with tight tolerances.

5. Problem-Solving Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and address any challenges during the machining process.

6. Collaborative Team Player:
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other team members to achieve project goals.
