NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 15 JANUARY 2021

The Minister of Health announced an additional 281 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 28 965 people.

One previously confirmed case that was wrongly allocated to the Province has been removed while two (2) previously confirmed cases have also been re-allocated back into the Province, this is as a result of the ongoing data verification.

In today's report, Namakwa recorded the highest number of positive cases (88) , followed by Frances Baard (69), ZF Mgcawu (48), JT Gaetsewe (41), and Pixley ka Seme (31) while 4 cases are unallocated.

Sadly we report nine (9) additional COVID-19 related deaths, of which six (6) occurred in the last 72 hours while the rest are from the previous months due to delays in reporting. With these new deaths, the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications now stands at 478.

We convey our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.

The number of total active cases stands at 4 034 in the Province.

The number of recoveries stands at 24 451 with the recovery rate of 84%.

• PHYSICAL DISTANCING: Keep 1.5 to 2 metres away from everyone else.
• FACE MASKS: Everyone must wear a face mask properly when near other people or in public spaces. This means it must fully cover the mouth and nose and be washed daily in soapy water.
• HAND HYGIENE: Regular handwashing with soap and water for 20 seconds, or regular use of alcohol-based hand sanitiser is essential.
• COUGH ETIQUETTE: If you cough or sneeze always use a tissue and dispose of it carefully. If you don’t have a tissue, use your bent elbow.
• DON'T TOUCH your eyes, nose or mouth and avoid touching surfaces that might be infected or you could infect.
• STAY AT HOME if at all possible and minimise travel, especially to areas where COVID-19 is known to be active.

NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 14 JANUARY 2021

The Minister of Health announced an additional 311 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 28 683 people.

The 10 previously confirmed cases that were wrongly allocated to the Province have been removed due to ongoing data verification.

In today's report, ZF Mgcawu recorded the highest number of positive cases (91) , followed by Namakwa (80), Frances Baard (79), Pixley ka Seme (38), and JT Gaetsewe (22) while 1 case is unallocated.

Sadly we report fifteen (15) additional COVID-19 related deaths, of which nine (9) occurred in the last 72 hours while the rest are from the previous months due to delays in reporting. With these new deaths, the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications now stands at 469.

We convey our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.

The number of total active cases stands at 3 881 in the Province.

The number of recoveries stands at 24 331 with the recovery rate of 85%.

NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 12 JANUARY 2021

The Minister of Health announced an additional 113 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 28 090 people. Due to ongoing data verification, four (4) previously confirmed cases that were wrongly allocated to other Province's have been re-allocated back into the Northern Cape Province.

In today's report, ZF Mgcawu recorded the highest number of positive cases (45) , followed by Pixley Ka Seme and Namakwa both at 23, Frances Baard (13) and JT Gaetsewe (7) while 2 cases are unallocated.

Sadly we report two (2) additional COVID-19 related death that occurred in the last 72 hours from the ZF Mgcawu district.

With these new death, the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications now stands at 447.

The number of total active cases stands at 3 751 in the Province.

The number of recoveries stands at 23 890 with the recovery rate of 85%.

NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 09 JANUARY 2021

The Minister of Health announced an additional 332 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 27 383 people. This is the third successive days this week where more than 300 positive cases were reported in a day for the Northern Cape Province, further highlighting the sustained increases in new cases, particularly in the Namakwa areas.

In today's report, Namakwa recorded the highest number of positive cases (137) , followed by Frances Baard (61), ZF Mgcawu (60), JT Gaetsewe (37), and Pixley Ka Seme (34) while 3 cases are unallocated.

Sadly we report twelve (12) additional COVID-19 related deaths, three (3) occurred in the last 72 hours while nine (9) are from the previous months due to delays in reporting.
With these new deaths, the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications now stands at 437.

We convey our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.

The number of total active cases stands at 3 415 in the Province.

The number of recoveries slightly increased to 23 529 with the recovery rate of 87%.
