After 12 years of outstanding play, tournaments and hockey clinics, the time has come for the first carpet replacement at Girls' High School Potchefstroom hockey facility.

We are excited to commence with the upgrade of the Polytan SuperPlay hockey carpet, ensuring a world-class playing surface for athletes to enjoy for years to come.

Not necessary for Waldouw Smit. Waldouw has just been crowned the 2026 Javelin Champion, with an impressive throw of 80.88m at the SA Senior Championships in Stellenbosch.

OLYMPIC HOCKEY TURF IN POTCHEFSTROOM 🏑

The day has finally arrived , the first Paris GT Zero Olympic hockey carpet has been rolled out at the new turnkey astro facility at Gimmies High School, Potchefstroom.

After more than 10 years in the making, this facility marks an important milestone in further strengthening Potchefstroom as a growing hockey hub in South African Hockey.

Not only will the Gimmies hockey teams benefit from this world-class surface, but schools across the region will also have the opportunity to develop their skills on a surface that has been played on at the highest international level. This same technology continues to evolve and is used for FIH tournaments and Olympic Games around the world.

We would like to acknowledge and applaud all past and current contributors, decision-makers, and partners who helped turn this vision into reality through years of planning, commitment, and collaboration.

With the official carpet roll-out ceremony completed, installation has now commenced and Gimmies Potchefstroom will soon have their very own Olympic grade hockey surface ready for play for many years to come.
