Agrément South Africa (ASA) convenes a strategic consultative workshop in Mpumalanga’s Mbombela/Nelspruit region to undertake a comprehensive review of the ASA Act and reinforce its role within the built environment.

The forum brings together a broad spectrum of stakeholders:

* Housing Development Agency (HDA)
* Nkangala District Municipality (NDM)
* Mpumalanga Department of Correctional Services (DCS)
* Silulumanzi (RF)(Pty)
* National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC)
* Bushbuckridge Local Municipality (BLM)
* DPWI – Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP)

The proceedings focus on strengthening Socio-Economic Impact Assessments (SEIAS), interrogating deficiencies within the current ASA Act, and drafting reform proposals to sharpen its effectiveness.

Dialogue also advances on the certification of non-standardised construction products and systems, with strong emphasis on embedding innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity into the sector’s regulatory framework.

Collectively, participants commit to cultivating a responsive regulatory environment that upholds quality and safety, accelerates socioeconomic transformation, and ensures the timely delivery of infrastructure across South Africa.

Through stakeholder engagement, a responsive regulatory framework is being developed to enhance infrastructure delivery and socio-economic development.
