Continuous development of new piping systems and related products to accommodate future requirements and demands in the industry. Furthermore, market development will form a critical part of our business focus and this will include suppliers of piping systems and markets globally. A web-based pricing system will be developed to assist clients in the budgetary process as well as speed up the procurement process for both supplier and user of piping systems and related products. Director’s profile and experience
Johan Schutte
Johan has over 20 years experience in the steel and plastic industry. He is qualified as an Electronic engineer and also a Polymer science diploma holder obtained from TUT. Johan achieved his knowledge in the industry by working mainly with and for two front runner companies in their distinctive fields, namely Petzetakis Africa in the Plastic industry and Robor, the steel pipe and fabricated fitting manufacturer. Johan worked as a Research and development engineer (Technical Product Manager) for both companies. Here, new products like a HDPE fire retardant pipe and the Steel Poly Pipe, a HDPE lined steel pipe which combines the positive of steel and plastic for the use of slurry lines in the mining industry, to mention but one application. Due to the technicality of most of the new developed products, he had to implement the production facility and the management of such and also had to oversee the technical marketing of these products. His vast experience with the technical planning, designing, specifying correct products and systems for specific markets and general technical assistance is available for the client. Wetpipe is involved with local economic development, an outcomes-based initiative focusing on sustainable eco circle vegetable gardens. This entails the establishment of small fruit and vegetable gardens on even the smallest plot of land in the low-income areas
Given the current size, operating model and very lean staff component, Wetpipe’s empowerment policy is focused on empowering those individuals and enterprises with whom Wetpipe contracts for services. In spite of it's size, this has been demonstrated over the past ten years through active and voluntary community development work and countless entrepreneurs coached to set up their own enterprises, most of which are from previously disadvantaged communities. The policy provides for true empowerment by partnering with and knowledge transfer to entities that are in themselves empowerment focussed in the fullest context possible.
