Mozambique update:
🚨 Consolidated Summary of Venâncio Mondlane’s Address - Today 02/12/2024
• The 4x4 phase will span 7 days, from Wednesday, 4th December, to Wednesday, 11th December, including the weekend.
• Activities are scheduled between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM, and again from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
*From 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM:*
• A total halt in movement: vehicles, buses, and other modes of transportation must remain stopped.
• Participants are encouraged to display posters on their vehicles or wear them on their clothing (either on the front or back).
• Gatherings should take place in neighborhoods and along major avenues leading to residential areas.
• Students are encouraged to participate in academic regalia, while professionals are advised to wear uniforms representing their professions.
• Activities will include singing the national anthem and the African anthem, as well as forming human lines or circles while holding hands to symbolize unity.
• Youth equipped with cell phones and drones are requested to document and capture images of the largest human lines or circles.
*From 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM:*
• Participants are advised to use whistles and vuvuzelas instead of banging pots and pans, following concerns raised by mothers regarding utensil damage.
*Additional Measures:*
• All Frelimo headquarters are to be closed, and borders and toll gates blocked.
• The cancellation of flights to and from Mozambique is recommended.
• Suspension of classes is strongly advised.
• Event promoters and tourist organizers are encouraged to cancel all scheduled events until further notice.
• There will be no parties on Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations this year.
