The Johannesburg Landscapes Maintenance team recently refreshed one of the landscape focal points at Hollard by replacing the previous seasonal plants with vibrant winter-flowering pansies in shades of purple. The client requested the colour selection to align with their brand identity.

Positioned at the site entrance, this focal landscape area creates a welcoming first impression while complementing the existing Hollard feature within the garden.

Seasonal plant changes form part of keeping landscapes fresh, visually appealing, and aligned with each client’s environment throughout the year.

At Life Landscapes, attention to detail and understanding client requirements remain at the centre of every maintenance project.

A well-designed workspace is shaped by more than furniture and finishes — the environment plays an important role in how a space is experienced.

This recent installation by the Life Indoors team formed part of a complete new-build fit-out, created in collaboration with one of the industry’s leading designers.

The space was designed with a soft and inviting aesthetic, combining bespoke high-end finishes with carefully placed greenery to complement the standout art and overall interior design.

Indoor plants do more than enhance aesthetics — they help bring balance, warmth, and life into modern working environments.

Last week, Life Green Group had the opportunity to engage with 3rd year Horticulture and Landscape students from the Department of Horticulture at Tshwane University of Technology during their WIL Presentation Day.

The session focused on preparing students for the realities of Work Integrated Learning and professional environments within the green industry.

The speakers shared different industry perspectives with the students:
* Mpho discussed HR readiness, CV building, interview preparation, and what makes a candidate employable.
* Phillipine shared her personal journey from horticulture into marketing, highlighting how WIL and practical experience can open doors into different areas in the industry.
* Godwill spoke about what it takes to grow on-site, earn trust, and turn exposure into opportunity through attitude, discipline, and willingness to learn.
* Fortune focused on operational realities, including site expectations, teamwork, professionalism, safety, standards, and client-facing behaviour.

A special thank you to Lana Sanderson for the invitation and opportunity to engage with the students.

We wish all the students the very best as they begin their WIL journey and future careers within the horticulture and landscaping industry.

Today we celebrate Africa Day — recognising the richness of culture, identity, and heritage across the continent.

Across Life Green Group, this is reflected in the spaces we create and maintain.

Through thoughtful design and environmental elements, African identity becomes part of the environment — not as a feature, but as a natural expression of place.

Because the spaces we work in should reflect where they belong.

Happy Africa Day.

Today marks the International Day for Biological Diversity — highlighting the importance of managing environments in ways that support and protect natural ecosystems.

On a site managed by Life Landscapes, a decision was made to retain a fallen acacia tree during routine maintenance.

This created suitable nesting conditions for a breeding pair of White-backed Night Herons, resulting in the successful raising of three chicks.

The outcome reinforces an important principle in environmental management:
Not all clearing adds value.

In certain contexts, selective intervention supports both operational requirements and ecological function.

Across Life Green Group, environmental management focuses on:
• Selective clearing based on site conditions
• Preserving functional habitats where possible
• Managing risk without unnecessary environmental disruption

These decisions, made at the site level, contribute to broader biodiversity outcomes.

Speak to us about managing your site in a way that supports both operational needs and environmental value.

What began with a major project opportunity at Sitari Country Estate in the Western Cape has grown into a permanent Cape Town presence — a journey that continues to this day, with work still ongoing on that same project alongside many others.

Over the past decade, the Cape Town branch has contributed to environmental management projects, partnerships, and continued regional growth within Life Green Group.

But more than anything, this milestone reflects the people — the work behind the scenes, the commitment on the ground, and the relationships that have shaped the journey over the past 10 years.

Here’s to a decade of Cape Town, and the journey still ahead. 💚

Today marks World Bee Day, under the theme: Bee Together for People and the Planet — highlighting the role of collective responsibility in supporting the ecosystems that sustain us.

Bees play a critical role in pollination, supporting plant life, biodiversity, and the health of natural environments.

Their presence is a reminder that ecosystems depend on balance — and that no single element functions in isolation.

Environmental management contributes to this balance through informed decisions around planting, maintenance, and the way spaces are managed over time.

Across Life Green Group, the focus remains on supporting environments that contribute to long-term ecological health — recognising that people, plants, and ecosystems are interconnected.

Because sustainable environments are not created alone — they are supported through ongoing, collective effort.

Precision, planning, and expertise in action.

Last week, Earth Probiotic Recycling Solutions (Pty) Ltd. successfully delivered a 5T Earth Cycler to Club Med Tinley Beach. Due to limited access within the installation space, an experienced rigging crew was required to safely position the machine.

With careful coordination and precision handling, the unit was moved centimetre by centimetre over a 2-hour operation, ensuring safe placement without compromise.

This delivery highlights the importance of specialist support in executing complex installations in challenging environments.
