A spoilt ship was parked in a riverbank for 6months.
The ship owner called different ship engineers to fix the spoilt ship.
Non of them could fix it.
Some advised the owner to forget about the ship.
That the ship was unfixable.
After six months of trials from different expertise.
From the world most trained engineers.
An old man who has been watching the incident came to the owner of the ship, and said.
Mister I can fix your ship, but you would pay me $10000 (Ten thousand) dollars.
The owner of the ship agreed since the other engineers charged him also, but couldn't fix it.
The old man took a hammer and went straight a side of the ship and hit it once.
He told a sailor to go start the ship.
Immediately he started the ship, the ship started working properly.
The owner of the ship was amazed and happy.
But then he asked the old man, why charge ten thousand dollars, for something you just hit ones.
The old man replied, sir all the expertise you called and you didn't know where to hit, to get the ship started.
You ain't paying me for hitting your ship ones, you are paying me for knowing where to hit, and you are also paying me for all the years I spent learning and knowing where to hit.
The owner gave him his money, and he went away.
Moral lesson:
When someone charges you for a job, he knows his worth and he/she know how much effort, time and money they spent in learning what they now do.
Appreciate Hand workers, it isn't easy, some of them spent 10years or less or more in learning what the do now.
