♻️ FROM SITE CLEAN-UP TO RECOVERED MATERIAL

Another successful project completed by the AO Plastics team.

What started as a large volume of accumulated plastic waste became an opportunity to recover value, create usable space and divert recyclable material away from landfill.

Our team conducted a comprehensive site assessment, identified the recoverable materials and prepared a detailed report covering:

• Material identification and grading
• Buy-back pricing for recyclable materials
• Site clean-up and collection requirements
• A clean-up rebate structure linked to the value of recovered material
• Downstream recycling opportunities for the materials identified

From assessment and reporting to completing the clean-up, we were able to assist our customer with a rapid three-day turnaround.

The result?

✅ More space for our customer.
✅ Less recyclable plastic going to landfill.
✅ Value recovered from their waste.

🧠 Did You Know?

♻️ Plastic Isn’t Just One Material

When most people hear the word plastic, they imagine it’s a single material.

In reality, “plastic” is a broad term that refers to many different polymers, each engineered with specific properties for a specific purpose.

That’s why a plastic water bottle, a milk bottle and a car bumper all feel and perform differently.

Here are a few of the most common plastics you encounter every day:

🧴 HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)
Known for its strength and durability, HDPE is commonly used for milk bottles, detergent containers, water pipes and chemical drums.

🥤 PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)
Lightweight, strong and highly recyclable, PET is widely used for soft drink bottles, water bottles and many food containers.

🛍 LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene)
Flexible and lightweight, LDPE is commonly found in shopping bags, bread bags, shrink wrap and squeeze bottles.

🍱 PP (Polypropylene)
With excellent heat and chemical resistance, polypropylene is used in food containers, automotive components, medical products and reusable packaging.

🪟 PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
One of the most versatile plastics, PVC is commonly used in pipes, window frames, cable insulation and construction materials.

Why Does This Matter?

Each type of plastic has its own unique properties and recycling requirements. Proper identification and separation help ensure materials can be recycled efficiently and transformed into valuable new products.

The next time you pick up a plastic product, have a look at the recycling symbol, you might be surprised by how much science goes into something we use every day.

♻️ Not All Recycled Plastic Is Created Equal

The quality of a finished product often depends on something most people never see: the raw material.

When manufacturers purchase recycled plastic, they’re not simply buying pellets, they’re investing in consistency, reliability and performance.

A single batch of inconsistent material can lead to production downtime, increased scrap, quality issues and unnecessary costs.

So, what separates premium recycled plastic from the rest?

Consistency

Reliable manufacturing starts with reliable materials. Consistent recycled plastic helps maintain stable production, predictable processing and dependable product quality from one batch to the next.

Purity

Even small amounts of contamination can affect appearance, mechanical performance and production efficiency. Clean, well-managed materials help manufacturers produce better products with fewer interruptions.

Performance

Manufacturers rely on materials that perform consistently throughout the production process. Stable material properties help minimize downtime, reduce waste and improve overall manufacturing efficiency.

Reliability

Quality isn’t just about the material itself, it’s about knowing your supplier can deliver the same high standard, batch after batch.

Why It Matters

Recycled plastic has become an essential raw material across a wide range of industries. Today’s manufacturers expect more than sustainability, they expect materials that perform consistently and support efficient, reliable production.

At AO Plastics, we believe quality starts with the raw material. By supplying consistent, high-quality recycled plastics, we help manufacturers produce with confidence.

Because excellence isn’t achieved by chance, it’s built on consistency.

Excellence in Every Cycle.
