The Clock Maestros is selling a fine late-19th-century Lenzkirch ting-tang mantel clock, circa 1899–1900.
The architectural hand-carved solid oak case displays a shaped crest with acanthus carving, fluted side pilasters, carved corner capitals, and a stepped plinth base.
The ornate brass dial features a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, an engine-turned matted centre, pierced gilt spandrels, and a regulation subsidiary dial at twelve o’clock.
The fully restored, high-grade 8-day Lenzkirch movement (serial number around 1,000,000) plays the ting-tang quarter strike on a matched pair of gongs and strikes the hours with a rich, resonant tone.
Recently serviced and in perfect working order.
A rare and desirable example from Germany’s most prestigious clockmaker, offered in exceptional condition.
