This Youth Day, we are celebrating young women building Africa's future in science, technology, engineering, mining, and manufacturing.

Through our ecosystem, we support them at every single stage. Over 217,900 girls have been reached through our STEM interventions, and more than 800 women have been trained in core digital skills. To date, we have supported over 1,200 visionary founders through our incubator and accelerator programmes, with over $10 million in capital raised.

When young women are given the right tools and platforms, they don't just find a place in the future, they build it.

In Celebration of International Women in Mining Day, we highlight the incredible founders we have supported through our programmes. Through our collaborations with Sasol and the Embassy of Finland, we are supporting women in mining and ensuring they have the resources, networks, and opportunities to lead.

Through the Sasol Women in Mining Incubator Programme, 28 women founders in mining and engineering have been supported to grow their businesses. They have accessed major industry platforms like the Mining Indaba and become suppliers to leading engineering companies in South Africa.

Through the Women in Circular Mining, in partnership with the Finnish Embassy, 15 women founders are developing solutions are developing solutions that drive resource efficiency, and driving sustainable innovation across the mining value chain.

Together, these collaborations are ensuring that women-owned mining businesses become entirely supplier-ready and scale sustainably.

This Youth Month, we are celebrating Dimakatjo Maila, founder of BrainGiga and one of the inspiring alumni of the Women in Tech South Africa Incubator.

BrainGiga is an open innovation and collaborative platform that connects organisations with innovators across Africa to solve key business and social challenges. Organisations challenge innovators to come up with solutions, and participants gain experience, build their professional networks, and earn rewards

Dimakatjo founded BrainGiga because she believes that young people in Africa have infinite talent and ingenuity but lack the opportunities to showcase their abilities. Through the incubator, she gained mentorship, training, and the support to scale her vision .

Today, she continues to grow BrainGiga, helping organisations accelerate innovation while empowering young people to develop critical skills in creative thinking, problem solving, and collaboration.

Join founders like Dimakatjo and apply today for the Women in Tech South Africa Incubator.

This World Environment Day, we are celebrating those who put the action into building a greener future.

WomHub supports cultivating that potential through entrepreneurship development programmes like the Green Acceleration Programme (GAP), supported by IYBA-SEED, and the Women in Circular mining, run in partnership with the Finnish Embassy. Founders on these programmes have combined business ambitions with a clear goal for a more sustainable world.

As an ecosystem builder, this work extends to developing the next generation talent pipeline for climate smart industries through programmes like Training for Green (T4G), a capacity building project that equips female engineering students with critical skills needed to lead a green transformation.

Follow our journey to see how we are building a more sustainable and inclusive future.

This June we are focusing on youth employment and sustainable economic growth. Sectors like technology, engineering, mining, and manufacturing hold some of the highest potential for job creation, and that is exactly why we do the work we do.

This month, we’ll showcase the young changemakers who are choosing STEM careers, founding businesses in STEM sectors and becoming industry leaders.

The youth deserve a sustainable, economically empowered future. Let’s build it together.

Wadh-ha Wahid Nassor is a pioneering founder blending marine science with digital intelligence, dedicated to the economic empowerment and safety of coastal fishing communities.

She is the founder of the Smart Ocean Monitoring System, which uses satellite sensors and AI to help fishermen in Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam find where the fish actually are. Fishermen can post their catch directly through the app so customers can place orders, which means less fish goes to waste and more money stays in the pockets of the people who caught it. And because not everyone owns a smartphone, she is now developing an SMS alert system so even fishermen with basic phones get ocean safety updates and fishing zone information.

Through the African Innovation Fellowship and WomHub, Wadh-ha got the mentorship, training, and exposure to take this from idea to deployment. She refined her business model, built her confidence as a young female tech founder, and is now making real impact across Tanzania's coastal communities.

This Africa Month, we are proud to highlight Wadh-ha because she is one of the women building for the continent.

Working from home is fine until you realise you have not had a single surprising conversation in six months.

At WomHub, that is basically all that happens. Someone walks past your desk, asks what you are building, and next thing you know they are introducing you to a funder or a co-founder or a person who just gets it.

We have the practical stuff too. Fast wifi, meeting rooms, a lactation lounge, a wellness area, even a space for your kids to explore STEM. But the real reason to come work from Cape Town, Johannesburg, or East London is the accidental magic.

Show up, be curious and see what happens.
